St. Malachy Athletic Committee Meeting 

June 25, 2007
7:00 p.m.
Parish Conference Center

Attendees:  Clay Courtney, Mike Arnould, Kevin Thomas, Scott Hanny, Bryon Meunier, Annette Vassillo

Minutes:

The previous meeting minutes were accepted.

Budget:  
Football, Kickball and Wrestling registrations have been received and put into the 2007 – 2008 budget.  For the 2006-2007 year, gym rental came in under budget by $100.

Uniforms:  
Football Jerseys are complete, but have to be delivered.  Basketball Jerseys are being numbered.

Registration: 
 July 16th is the deadline for entering team sports info to the CYO.

Athletic Committee Structure:  
Kevin Thomas moved to accept the flowchart structure put forth by Mike Arnould.  Bryon Meunier seconded the motion and the flowchart was approved.  Carmen Lopez has resigned from the committee.  Tom O'Leary and David Bratton accepted as members at large.  Mike Arnould will contact them.

Job descriptions for various function within the committee will be written by the following members:
Kevin Thomas -  Coordinator and At Large Committee members.
Annette Vassillo – Green & White contact, Booster & Concession Manager.
Mike Arnould – Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, Background/Virtus person.
Scott Hanny – Secretary
Clay Courtney – Treasurer, Registrar, Inventory
Terri Fech – Gym Manager
The job descriptions are to be e-mailed to the committee members for comment.

Send Mike Arnould any ideas about how to allot responsibilities for the At Large committee positions.

Arts in the Park:  
Arts in the Park on July 14th.  $3 parking cost.  2 shifts of people needed, from 8-10 and 10-12.  10 people per shift needed.  Annette will try to get 4 boys and Kevin girls and let Clay know about the number they have recruited.

Sport Coordinators:  
Marie Damler will be coordinating Cross Country.  Tom Gliva is interested in coordinating Girls' Basketball, but Clay may fill in if Tom does not make a commitment.  Scott will see that an advertisment will be placed in the bulletin requesting interested parties, who want to coordinate Boys' Basketball or Track to contact Mike Arnould.  A coordinator for Baseball is needed, but that decision will be shelved for the moment.

Job Responsibilities:  
Who will hold the position of Registrar, will be determined after the job responsibilities have been defined.

Annette will be the Sports' Physical coordinator.  The fee will be $10.  The physicals will be done on Thursday August 16th.  The preliminary times are 4:30 to 6:30.

Miscellaneous:  Clay will schedule times for the Girls' Basketball tryouts.

Clay has done an initial edit of the Bylaws and will e-mail them to the committee members.

Kevin Thomas will contact Iquest about the possibility of hosting the Athletic Committee website for free.

Next Meeting:
The next meeting will by Sunday July 29th at 7:00 pm at a yet to be determined person's home.
