New Committee Member: David Bratton, one of the new committee members was present for his first meeting. Treasure’s Report: The 2006-2007 fiscal year’s ending balance was $21,311. This is a net gain of approximately $1,500 from the previous fiscal year. A question was raised of where the Football Conditioning Camp money appears in the budget. Clay stated, the funds raised go into the general fund and is not earmarked for football explicitly. It is also not listed as a line item in the budget because Clay is not sure that it will occur each year. CYO Golf Outing: There is a CYO golf outing occurring on September 13th. The registration deadline is August 30th. The fee is $540 per foursome. Concession Stand: The Concession stand has been cleaned, restocked and a Coke delivery is scheduled for August 28th. Soccer Goals: The soccer goals were formerly stored near the storage shed. They have been moved by maintenance, into the fields. Randy is talking to the maintenance staff trying to determine, where they should be stored now. He is worried about their current location and kids trying to do chin ups on them and having them overturn. He has weighted them down with cinder blocks as a temporary measure. Sports Updates- Football: There are 95 student athletes participating in football this year. Bryon reports this has stretched the available equipment to its limits. The football teams participated in the Jamboree. All the teams won except for the 4th grade team. The Jamboree cost $150, which was taken out of the money raised by the Conditioning Camp. Bryon is looking for volunteer for line painting of the field. Bryon announced that he will be stepping down as football coordinator after this year. He would like to continue coaching the 3rd grade team in the following years. The season’s game schedules should be available on August 31st. It is likely that Tom Zupansic will not be running the Football Conditioning Camp next year. Approximately 70 student athletes showed up for the camp. The camp was run 3 nights a week for 2 weeks. Fall Kickball: The season started on Monday, August 20th. There have been minor updates to the rules. There were a few complaints about the selection process. Clay will register the teams as follows: 2 teams of 7th – 8th grade: 11 student athletes 4 teams of 5th – 6th grade: 31 student athletes 2 teams of 4th grade: 10+ student athletes One non-parishioner is participating. Mike and Clay made it know that they do not think that a non-parishioner should be on an A level team and be able to bump a parishioner of the team. The Athletic Committee generally agreed. Clay will be outlining the team selection process and e-mailing the process to potential coaches. Boys’ Basketball: September 14th is the deadline for registration.
