St. Malachy Athletic Committee Meeting June 29, 2008 7:00 p.m. Parish Conference Center Attendees: Mike Arnould , Jim Yetter, Scott Hanny, Randy Schmidt, Mary Ellen Loberger, Tom O'Leary, David Bratton CYO All Sport players are to register on-line with the CYO. Head coaches need to register as well. July 18th is the registration deadline. Football weigh in is August 16th. Concessions Negotiation are underway with Coke to renew our contract. Candy prices will probably be going up. Registrar There are currently 44 cheerleading, 11 cross country, 66 kickball, 82 football and 60 girls' basketball registrations. 168 have completed the CYO on-line registration. There are 96 that still need to complete the on-line registration. Sports Updates- Fall Kickball: Evaluations have been scheduled. Football: Camp will begin July 28th. Physicals will be August 11th and will cost $10. 5th & 6th grades may be combined, since 5th has 16 athletes and 6th has 11. No games will start before 2:00 on Sunday. There will be no home games on the weekend of September 19th due to the Country Fair. Girls' Basketball: 24 girls participated in camp. Evaluations have been tentatively set for August 24th. Cheerleading: Practice has started. Cross Country: 11 participants are signed up. Virtus Training: Fall training at St. Malachy has yet to be scheduled. All Coordinators please send a list of coaches to Mike Arnould, so that he can check Virtus training for them. Website: Soccer team winners' picture is on-line. Will update with physical and evaluation information. Upcoming Events: Arts in the Park is July 19th. Volunteers are needed. New Business: Cheeleading would like to get a coherent set of uniforms for all grades. Mary Ellen Loberger has found a place that will supply a complete outfit, including pom poms, for $75. Currently each grade has a different uniform set. St. Malachy dedication will be on November 3rd. Father Dan asked that this date be kept free form all sporting events. Fall coordinators and coaches pleas contact Pam Gillund for Noll Hall entry access in case of weather emergencies. Board Items: The budget for 2008-2009 was approved. Tom O'Leary volunteered to coordinate Arts in the Park. There has been a request from a non-SMS travel team to use Noll Hall on Saturday mornings this summer. The AC does not have a problem with this, but Linda Curry should be the decision maker. Clay requests that we gift Brownsburg Schools with a weighted baseball tarp. The approximate cost would be $700. Voted and approved. Cheerleading uniforms will be discussed via e-mail. Annette Vassillo is stepping down from the committee immediately. Next Meeting: The next meeting will by Sunday July 27th at 7:00 pm at the parish conference room.
