St. Malachy Athletic Committee Meeting September 8, 2008 8:00 p.m. Parish Conference Center Attendees: Mike Arnould, Tom O'Leary, Clay Courtney, Randy Schmidt, Scott Hanny, Tom Gliva, Kevin Thomas, David Bratton The previous meetings minutes were approved. Treasurer's Report Applications for the DeChant and Parish endowment have been turned in. Concessions The coke machine was left on. The carbon dioxide was used up and three of the syrup bags were disconnected upstairs. They will be thrown out due to exposure. The cheese dispenser has not been purchased. The rebuild dispenser would be $299. . Registrar There are currently 4 outstanding football physicals and 1 registration required. 2 cheerleaders still owe fees. Kickball has 8 outstanding physicals. Cross Country has 5 outstanding physicals and 5 outstanding registrations. Girls' basketball has 17 outstanding physicals, 2 unpaid fees and 3 outstanding registrations. Sports Updates- Kikckball: There are 16 girls on the Cadet team. This is working out surprisingly well. The 4th grade team is 5 – 0 so far Football: First games this weekend. All athletes are in new or reconditioned helmets. Working on team pictures. They will probably be taken this week. Girls' Basketball: 65 girls in 3 Cadet teams, 3 5/6 teams and 2 4th grade teams. Coaches are all set up. Practices started on Saturday. Cheerleading: The 4th grade team was cancelled. Cross Country: 24 runner are participating. Uniforms were found, but they are short on the number needed. More may be donated by the group that donated them last year. Virtus Training: No St. Malachy training is scheduled at this time. Website: Winter registrations will be put online. The deadline for Boys' Basketball will be September 26. Girls' Volleyball deadline will be November 17. Wrestling deadline will be December 5. Old Business: Church dedication is December 6, 2008. Please keep this date free of sport activities New Business: There will be a Ministry Fair on the weekend of October 25-26. Sister Barbara is asking if the AC wants to run a table. Men's Basketball might be playing between 8-10 on Sunday evening and bumping AC teams from practicing between 8 & 9. Mike is discussing this with the involved parties. Terri wants to schedule 3 courts in Plainfield on one night for evaluations. Kevin wants 2 or 3 nights in Noll Hall. Mike will intercede with Terri. Board Items: Mike proposed a Board nomination process. The voted on and approved the process. Kathy Walton was selected via voting to be the next At Large board member. Next Meeting: The next meeting will by Sunday September 28th at 7:00 pm at the parish conference room.
