St. Malachy Athletic Committee Meeting

Attendees:  Mike Arnould, Kathy Walton, Scott Hanny, Kevin Thomas, Tom Gliva

The previous meeting minutes were approved

CYO Correspondence
Chatard and Ritter are asking for letters in support of getting a practice football field grant from the NFL

Concessions
Coverage by parents has been a little sparse.

Registrar
88 boys are registered for Basketball with 1 missing registration.  110 are registered for Volleyball with 7 missing physicals and 6 missing principal realeases.  There are 13 boys signed up for Wrestling.  Two of the boys are non-parishioners.

Sports Updates-

Girls' Volleyball:
Practice is ongoing.  Kevin is trying to arrange time with Sports-Zone, when the Plainfield facility is not available.  10 or 11 teams are signed up for the St. Malachy tournament.  32 teams will fill all the slots.

Girls' Volleyball:
Clay will contact Brownsburg schools to see if there is a possibility of getting wrestling time at their facilities.

Wrestling:
Chris Kaiser will be the coach.

Spring Kickball:
Terri has made mention that she may not want to be the coordinator.  We are looking for a replacement coordinator to train with Terri.

Track:
Mike Zimmerman will still be the coordinator. 

Baseball:
Clay Courtney will be the coordinator.

Soccer:
Randy will continue as the coordinator.  

Softball:
Kevin will talk to Clay and try to get some Brownsburg practice time.

Spring Sport registration will be February 20th.  A bulletin notice will be run from Jan 10th to Feb 14th.

Virtus Training:
100% of the Boys Basketball coaches are trained.  All but one volleyball coach has been trained and she may be registered under her maiden name.

Website:
The website will be updated with the new Spring Registration Form.

Calendar of Events:
January 15th is the Volleyball clinic.  January 17th is the last normal season Basketball game.

Old Business:
The music room is not available as a practice site for martial arts.  We will look into using Brownsburg rec center for martial arts.

MLK Holiday Volleyball tournament was approved to be held and sponsored by St. Malachy.

Mike Arnould will remind David Bratton about getting team Basketball photos.

The gym banner for Chess is out for updating.
