Fall Sports Updates- Football: Nike/Impact has a 12 day event for parents to order 6 different type of football shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, etc. to show their support of the St. Malachy teams. More than $2500 worth of merchandise was ordered. This is not considered to be a fund raiser. It is considered to be support of the sport, since the money charged was for apparel only and St. Malachy did not receive any funds. There are 20 – 25 helmets that we want to get rid of. St. Susanna would like them. They have not been refurbished. Tom will get with Lynda Curry about putting together a liability waiver document. Kickball: There are 2 5/6B teams instead of one B and one C team. They CYO had no C teams. 2 strong players quit one team. This caused one strong and one weak team and the parents are not happy. One athlete was added to the weak team and the teams are mostly rebalanced. A new Kickball coordinator is needed. Girls’ Basketball Clay Courtney will be leaving as coordinator after this year. Cheerleading All the girls are uniformed and all squads have coaches. High School Volleyball There will be a team after all the confusion and controversy.
