Sunday, October 25, 2009 Opening Prayer Attendance: Sister Barbara, Kevin Rollings, Tom O’Leary, Scott Hanny, RJ Vannoy (school commission), David Bratton Approval of Last Month’s Minutes: Approved Pastoral Associates Report: Sister Barbara offered congratulations to the City Champion Cross Country team and the 5/6 City Champion Kickball Team. Sister Barbara also mentioned that we should put an emphasis on background checks for coaches. We need to get status on current coaches and provide forms to those who need to have theirs updated. Gym Manager Report – Gregg Bennett AC Gym responsibilities: Tom O’Leary clarified that AC member gym duty should conflict with your own games if you are coaching. Calendar of Events Ministry Fair Weekend at St. Malachy Oct31/Nov 1: Tom O’Leary to lead getting an information board together for the fair. Concessions $592 profit YTD for school; $2,340 Revenue. We need to look to tighten up the security situation in the concession room, including the refrigerator. Christmas Bazaar is approved to use the concession area for the bazaar and will reimburse us for product used at our cost (Debbie Timko) CYO Correspondence None. Registrar’s Report 59 have registered and paid for girls basketball 79 have registered and paid for boys basketball, to date Fall Coordinators’ Report Fall Kickball (INTERIM Coordinator Tom O’Leary) Coordinator 2010 Spring: No decision on coordinator yet, position posted. Award approved within CYO individual award limit for City Champion 5/6 team. Football (Coordinator Jim Yetter): All of the teams are out of the City tournament except the Cadets. Girls Basketball (Coordinator Clay Courtney) Coordinator 2010: No report. Position has been posted. Girls jerseys with the smaller (incorrect) print will be reprinted at vendor’s expense. Cheerleading (Coordinator Mary Ellen Loberger) : Finished for fall and will have 1 squad for winter sports. Cross Country (Coordinator Marie Damler): Award approved within CYO individual award limit for City Champion 5/6 team. HS Volleyball (Coordinator Kevin Thomas): Season complete. Winter Coordinators Boys Basketball – David Bratton Coordinator 2010: Position has been posted. 81 boys have registered: 19 4th grade; 30 5/6 grade; 32 cadet. 4th and 5/6 teams have been announced; Cadet soon. Coaches meeting 11/18; CYO Tourney begins 1/18/10. Volleyball – Kevin Thomas Team deadline 11/5/09. Wrestling – Bryan Meunier: No report. Virtus Report: No update. Website Report – Kevin/Scott: Wait for update on Michael Jasiak’s work on the school and church website. We may link to that site, but retain control. Board’s Item’s Treasurer’s Report Financial Review: In good standing and on track to be within approved overall budget. Old Business:     Player commitments: Approved adding a statement on sports registration forms of our position regarding giving priority to the CYO teams as a parent/player and also add the statement on the website. (to address poor participation by some players/parents in practices and games). New Business: Organization chart update: Tabled. Shamrock field renaming: Tabled.
